He began his career in architecture and real estate development, has developed projects and finance structures for a US Fortune 100 corporation, and served on boards and committees for the American Institute of Architects, Urban Land Institute, American Hotel & Lodging Association, Invest In the United States Association and a number of non-profit and charitable organizations.

A career real estate entrepreneur, Tim's creativity, land use experience and problem solving capabilities have contributed to successful execution of innumerable projects in the United States, with a focus on the California marketplace. As a President of Catellus Residential Group, Tim was directly responsible for all residential land development investments. He has held top positions with various other residential real estate development companies, including Broadmoor Homes, Barratt American, and John Laing Homes.

Tim's current company, Summit Land Partners, has a leadership team which has been responsible for the construction of over 18,000 housing units and the development of more than 20,000 residential lots.

A veteran in creating public-private partnerships, Homer's experience in bringing together groups to realize civic value creation through dramatic transformation of urban environments has received global attention and praise.
